First Porn Star App Approved By Apple

iPhone Porn Star App

iPhone Porn Star App

Porn anyone? Well the App store has just the fix for you. Apple announced that they would approve the porn store app developed by GrindHouse Mobile and the stars themselves. The apps, featuring adult actress Sunny Leone and  Pet Aria Giovanni of Penthouse, seem to be more of a way for fans to keep up with the latest from their favorite porn divas. Sunny  Leone’s app features a blog, sets of photos, and personal videos, along with a Premium section through which updates are pushed to your phone. Giovanni’s App seems to be similiar for the most part.

Apple has had some controversy with its App Store approval process, since it began accepting submissions from third-party developers. Some apps include, Eucalyptus e-book reader because it could permit access to the Kama Sutra, an ancient text known for its description of sexual encounters and positions. And an app from the widely known group Nine Inch Nails was rejected because of sexually “objectionable content” in a song.

All in all, the app is pretty tame although GrindHouse did admit that in their first attempted at having the app approved, they were “a little too ‘hot’ for Apple’s compliance department.” GrindHouse revamped the application so that they could meet the necessary guidlines that needed to be met to have the app accepted on the App Store.

Unlocked iPhone

We believe that Apple will be releasing the iPhone 3.1 update at or following tomorrow’s “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it” special music event, the members of the Dev-Team has posted a reminder for Jailbroken & unlocked iPhones:

If you update to Apple’s new software using the normal iTunes process, you will lose your ultrasn0w unlock. In fact you may lose it permanently, because for most people the baseband firmware cannot be reverted to a previous version (unlike the main application CPU firmware).

A custom IPSW is needed to update to this firmware so that the baseband won’t be upgraded allowing users to continue using their unlocked iPhones without issue.

So, jailbreakers and unlockers, DO NOT UPDATE USING iTunes! You’ve been warned.

AT&T MMS Available for iPhone This Month

September 4th, 2009 denimdragon No comments

AT&T announces that September 25th will be the release date for MMS capabilities for the iPhone. As stated by AT&T in June, MMS will be included in Text Messaging charges, not a charge in itself. AT&T also says that this delay was due to the building of a stronger network to handle the heavy MMS demands. This is long over due for iPhone users on the AT&T network. T-Mobile users have been able to use MMS since the release of iPhones OS 3.0 in June. That makes absolutely no sense, seeing as the iPhone is “exclusive” to the AT&T network and you have to unlock it to use it on T-Mobiles network. And they wonder why people jailbreak and unlock their iPhones. Thanks AT&T for being backwards as usual…

iPhone 3G Refurbs
AT&T is pushing the iPhone 3G’s out the door as they have just lowered the price of 8 GB and 16 GB phones to $79.99 and $129.99 , with a two-year contract. This applies to the white and black model iPhones while the supplies  last. Before you jump for joy, consider the following:

  1. These are Refurbished Phones and Devices. Refurbished phones are previously owned devices that have been unused or lightly used and returned during the 30-day trial period.
  2. Refurbs are independently test to meet Apple standards and come with the latest firmware
  3. This refurbished iPhones my have minor scratches on them
  4. Refurbished iPhones carry a 90 day warranty on them, in some cases more.

All in all not a bad deal for a 3G iPhone.  For info about the warranty on the refurbished iPhone 3G go to www.apple.com/support/oss/.

How to fix internet access after iPhone 3.0 update

July 6th, 2009 denimdragon No comments

If you are an AT&T customer who has an iPhone but you’re not an iPhone contract holder, your are probably experiencing the “Could not activate cellular data network. You are not subscribed to a cellular data service” message when you try to connect to the internet through Safari are when checking your email. I recently had the same issue and did some playing around to get the problem remedied. Apparently AT&T has tried to make the new software update wipe out your internet settings and access to your cellular data network settings page if you don’t have their over-priced iPhone plan (Tmobile unlocked iPhone users aren’t experiencing this problem because their cellular data network setting is still accessible).

The fact that this has happen shows that these corporate Tyrants will do anything they can to drain the life’s blood out of your pocket book, and once again shows why the world needs guys like us to find ways to beat them at their own game. I have found a solutions after a little bit of research. First you will need to have your iPhone 3G Jailbroken and access to wifi since your iPhone won’t connect with your data plan:

1. Go to CYDIA and do a search for an app called APN Editing. Install the app only if you don’t see
“Cellular Data Network” options under Settings > General> Network

2. Install the APN Settings app to your iPhone 3G.

3. After this, an Icon called “APN” will appear on your Springboard when you close CYDIA.

4. Tap the icon and it will take you to unlockit website on your iPhone.

5. This will take you to “APN Changer” on your iPhone browser.

6. Where it says “Blank” for carrier, change it to AT&T (or what ever carrier you have) and continue.

Once you have done this your cellular data should work again! Pull up Safari to double check that everything is running as is should be (be sure to turn wifi off). If not you may need to reboot your iPhone so the settings can take, but in my case, this was not necessary.

Special thanks goes out to the guys at unlockit.co.nz for a great app that helps us continue to enjoy our iPhones in their full capacity.
