iPhone 3G Refurbs
AT&T is pushing the iPhone 3G’s out the door as they have just lowered the price of 8 GB and 16 GB phones to $79.99 and $129.99 , with a two-year contract. This applies to the white and black model iPhones while the supplies  last. Before you jump for joy, consider the following:

  1. These are Refurbished Phones and Devices. Refurbished phones are previously owned devices that have been unused or lightly used and returned during the 30-day trial period.
  2. Refurbs are independently test to meet Apple standards and come with the latest firmware
  3. This refurbished iPhones my have minor scratches on them
  4. Refurbished iPhones carry a 90 day warranty on them, in some cases more.

All in all not a bad deal for a 3G iPhone.  For info about the warranty on the refurbished iPhone 3G go to www.apple.com/support/oss/.

iPhone 3G & 3GS Screen Repair Service

We will be offering iPhone 3G & 3GS screen repair soon!!! We already perform the service locally for our Houston clients and have had many people send us there phones through the mail to have them repaired.  There is nothing worst than having an iPhone with a cracked screen. We will also be performing other repairs and services in the near future but seeing how many people locally have damaged screens, we have decided to focus on screen repair first.

More information and details will be posted in the near future about  shipping, payment details, and prices. We will also be offer a one year warranty on our parts and labor because we only use OEM parts, not the cheaper screens used by other repair companies.

So next time you get a little too tipsy at the club or just have a “Whoops” and cracked your beloved iPhone screen, rest at ease, we gotcha covered!

How to fix internet access after iPhone 3.0 update

July 6th, 2009 denimdragon No comments

If you are an AT&T customer who has an iPhone but you’re not an iPhone contract holder, your are probably experiencing the “Could not activate cellular data network. You are not subscribed to a cellular data service” message when you try to connect to the internet through Safari are when checking your email. I recently had the same issue and did some playing around to get the problem remedied. Apparently AT&T has tried to make the new software update wipe out your internet settings and access to your cellular data network settings page if you don’t have their over-priced iPhone plan (Tmobile unlocked iPhone users aren’t experiencing this problem because their cellular data network setting is still accessible).

The fact that this has happen shows that these corporate Tyrants will do anything they can to drain the life’s blood out of your pocket book, and once again shows why the world needs guys like us to find ways to beat them at their own game. I have found a solutions after a little bit of research. First you will need to have your iPhone 3G Jailbroken and access to wifi since your iPhone won’t connect with your data plan:

1. Go to CYDIA and do a search for an app called APN Editing. Install the app only if you don’t see
“Cellular Data Network” options under Settings > General> Network

2. Install the APN Settings app to your iPhone 3G.

3. After this, an Icon called “APN” will appear on your Springboard when you close CYDIA.

4. Tap the icon and it will take you to unlockit website on your iPhone.

5. This will take you to “APN Changer” on your iPhone browser.

6. Where it says “Blank” for carrier, change it to AT&T (or what ever carrier you have) and continue.

Once you have done this your cellular data should work again! Pull up Safari to double check that everything is running as is should be (be sure to turn wifi off). If not you may need to reboot your iPhone so the settings can take, but in my case, this was not necessary.

Special thanks goes out to the guys at unlockit.co.nz for a great app that helps us continue to enjoy our iPhones in their full capacity.

Enabling MMS on your iPhone 3G OS 3.0

iPhone 3G MMSiPhone 3G MMS

Now that the new iPhone Firmware 3.0 has been released, you can now send MMS (picture messages) on your iPhone like the rest of the world who owns cell phones. What took Apple so long, who knows. Also AT&T seem reluctant to offer MMS on the iPhone just yet. They are suppose to be offer the service close to the end of the summer. For the 1st Gen. iPhone (2G) users, sorry but this feature was left out for some reason are the other. There are ways around this, but that’s for another post. Please take a healthy dose of “At-Your-Risk” before proceeding.

There are a couple of things you will need to do before you get started with the process:

-Modified version of the AT&T_US.ipcc

-iPhone 3G on OS 3.0

-iTunes 8.2

-Another AT&T phone other than an iPhone

Now that you have all the key components, we need to set up iTunes
to start IPCC Updates. I have listed the methods for doing this on MAC OS X and Windows 32 & 64Bit operating systems.

Set-up IPCC Updates for iTunes 8.2

Mac OS X

1. Close iTunes

2. Open Terminal (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal)

3. Run the command: defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

Windows 32 Bit

1. Close iTunes

2. Go to Start then Run and type CMD

3. Run this command: “C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPreflnt carrier-testing 1

Windows 64 Bit

1. Close iTunes

2. Go to Start then Run and type CMD

3. Run this command: “C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPreflnt carrier-testing 1

Copying the IPCC to your iPhone

1. Open iTunes & plug in your phone

2. Click on your phone in iTunes(under device settings)

3. Windows Users: hold shift and click “Check for updates”.  MAC OS X: hold alt and click “Check for updates”

4. Select the IPCC you downloaded earlier.

*AT&T family plan user can skip 7-11

  1. Remove the sim cards from both the iPhone and your other phone
  2. Place the iPhone SIM card into the other phone
  3. Turn on the new phone
  4. Make a phone call or two (your voicemail works)
  5. Log in to your myWireless account at wireless.att.com
  6. It should now show the phone you put the  SIM into. If not, repeat step 4 a few times (Citical Step)
  7. Go to the “Features”
  8. Select a “Messaging Plan”, (non-iPhone)
  9. Click next and go through all the legal blah-blah-blah
  10. Now MMS  should be activated on your account
  11. Switch your SIM back to the iPhone from the non-iPhone
  12. Restart you iPhone

Let us now how it works out for you by leaving a comment.
